Our tour starts with a guided visit of the famous Postojna Cave, a network of 20 kilometres of passages,galleries and chambers.It is the largest cave in the Carso and the most visited show cave in Europe.Visitors are dazzled by a wealth of speleothems:calcite formations,stalactites and stalagmites abounding in a variety of shapes,colours and age.Afterwards we are driven to the characteristic Castle of Predjama.Probably dated back to the 12th century or even earlier,this ghotic castle was built under a natural rocky arch high in the stone wall to make access to it very difficult.A lunch menu in a local restaurant as well as all transfers are also included.
A tour of the Old city of Ljubljana
The capital of Slovenia is a beautiful small city lying on the river Ljubljanica.The old town boasts several well preserved baroque buildings and the original creations by the 20th century architect Joze Plecnik.The picturesque Triple Bridge crosses the Ljubljanica River as it meanders through the town.Across the Bridge we get to the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation,a treasure of Baroque architecture.Just around the corner,we find Ljubljana'sfamed Central Market where farm fresh produce,flowers and collectibles are always cheap.Not to miss is the funicular train carrying up to the Castle which provides a stunning view of the city.
